There Is Hope
Mental Health Thursday
Welcome to this week’s mental health letter. I understand today is Christmas, but I wanted to make sure a letter still came out for anyone these letters may help. Today I want to talk about something we all need to keep in mind at times. Hope amid struggle, faith while lost in the darkness.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
(John 1:15)
That light is our Lord. He shines in the darkness and the darkness may not ever overcome Him. We’ve all been in the darkness before, on some varying level. This time of year is celebrated and joyous for some. Others it can be a time of longing, feeling lonely, or feeling the loss of someone no longer here to celebrate. It’s okay if you feel that way and it doesn’t make you broken or wrong. It makes you human, you’re allowed to feel. It’s what you do within that feeling that matters.
When you’re feeling your lowest or completely lost, it’s important for you to turn to prayer. Give God your worries, your heavy feelings, and your sins. Let Him hold them for you while you find your way back to the light. Spend some time in your Bible and if you don’t have one, there is a really good Holy Bible app that’s totally free. I use that when I’m out and about or waiting for something and just need a little Bible time.
No matter what it is you’re going through this Christmas season, remember God is with you and will never abandon you. All you need to is reach out through prayer. Try to stay in the positive, find something to celebrate. Keep your mind busy doing something that brings you happiness and calm. Through Christ you can persevere anything. You don’t have to walk this life alone and there is always hope no matter what your struggle.
Merry Christmas and trust in Christ to guide you.
Let Christ be your Cornerstone this week and always.
With faith and care,
Mike
